Officially, Asake is known as Ahmed Ololade. His stage name was derived from his given name, Ololademi Asake, which is thought to be the name of his mother. Asake is a tribute to his mother in the name.

Asake was somewhere in the industry before Olamide signed him to be part of the YBNL record label in February 2022. Not long after that, he released the most popular label, Ololade. This led to a huge success with more reverence to his breaking song, where he featured Olamide, “Omo Ope.” This was just the beginning of Asake’s success.
He released a second track off his debut EP under the YBNL record label in February, an extension of his three-track EP (Ololade). A month after the release, he made released a remix of Sungba with Burna Boy. On July 18, 2022, Asake hits another record label deal with Empire. The Empire record label is an American music record label and distribution company. It is believed that both record labels Asake belongs to are in a partnership deal with each other.
